POSITION TITLE: Family Justice Center Navigator/Front Desk

REPORTS TO: Program Manager (Family Justice Center)

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Family Justice Center Navigator will provide front desk coverage, administrative assistance, and direct services to survivors of domestic violence in person and via phone.

FLSA: Non-exempt

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:

  • Responsible for coverage of the Family Justice Center front desk during normal business hours.
  • Takes and triages calls to appropriate staff person.
  • Sorts, organizes and triages Participant Mail according to CASA Mail Policy
  • Schedules participant appointments, adds to shared Family Justice Center Case Manager Calendar.
  • Collaborate with onsite and offsite partners to ensure wrap around services are provided.
  • Advocate with other community agencies and the criminal justice system on participant’s behalf as needed.
  • Keeps ongoing rotation log of walk-in appointments for Family Justice Center Case Managers, assigns to applicable Case Manager.
  • Oversee the victim compensation check distribution, communications, and follow up paperwork.
  • Answer hotline calls and assess for appropriate services and referrals, provide safety planning, while screening and pending for shelter as needed.
  • Complete all data entry for direct service staff training hours in the appropriate database in a timely manner.
  • Provide domestic violence crisis counseling services in person and over the phone.
  • Provide survivors with support, resources, referrals, safety plans, injunction assistance, and advocacy services.
  • Complete all required paper work and data entry in a timely manner.
  • Work with program participants to assist them in assessing their needs, developing and implementing goals, and offering case management services as needed.
  • Provide victim compensation application assistance, address confidentiality assistance, support group facilitation, IFP packet assistance, as needed or requested as back-up to FJC Case Management team.
  • Complete direct service data entry to include hotline calls and intake information into the appropriate database weekly.
  • Maintain and update the list of upcoming training opportunities for staff.
  • Oversee the electronic intake form database and send to survivors as needed.
  • Assist with programmatic reports, data entry, and tracking stats as needed.
  • Maintain CASA’s resource database and review and update it monthly.
  • Responsible for understanding and acting in accordance with CASA policies.
  • Work with volunteers collaboratively in order to enhance program services.
  • Regular work attendance including punctuality.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a two year degree and/or work related certifications, or a minimum of 1 year of work related experience, or a minimum of 6 months of demonstrated success in a related CASA direct service position.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or other crisis experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the ability to maintain working relationships with other agencies.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Willingness to drive agency vehicles as needed.
  • Ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
  • Valid Florida State Driver's License to be verified annually.
  • Participate in a background check and fingerprinting upon employment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. This also includes working in the event of a natural disaster or emergency situation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
