Job Description:
Our South-Central Sales and Applications team is seeking a unique individual with outstanding technical skills and 8+ years of experience in embedded and wired communications.
As a FAE-Senior Embedded Solution Engineer, you will engage, use insights and influencing skills to offer unique perspectives to clients about their industry and on their technology, linking back to Microchip's solutions. You will utilize your engineering design skills, techniques, and knowledge to decrease client development time, reduce overall system cost and improve the performance of their end products. You will become a trusted technical advisor by helping to provide hardware, firmware, middleware, and development tools support for your clients to accelerate their product development schedule. We encourage an out of the box design approach to help our clients maximize the overall value of their product by giving them the freedom to innovate. We are seeking someone who can advise and implement innovative ideas and solutions with our South-Central US clients.
Overview
Primarily customer engagement role to drive design wins to revenue at large accounts by providing in-depth engineering support including creation of demos, proof of concept designs, and first bring up of client system boards. Some specific embedded expertise may be required. Visiting, training, and advising customers is also part of the job.

Main Functions
-
Adopt, lead, and comprehensively utilize all products within Microchip’s vast product portfolio to create and secure design-wins with a primary focus on Ethernet and USB.

Provide in-depth engineering support and assist customers with USB or Ethernet hardware and software development.

Adapt existing reference designs to address specific customer needs.
-
Will support a variety of clients including computing projects.
-
Travel to receive training or to support other regions as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Technical Skills
-
BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of experience with embedded system design including the following:
-
Hardware and software experience with wired communications such as Ethernet, USB, and CAN.
-
Experienced in the use of USB and Ethernet Protocol Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to debug prototype hardware.
-
Knowledge of Wireshark for Ethernet packet analysis.
-
Experience with Linux or FreeRTOS.
Other beneficial skills:

Signal integrity fundamentals.

Experience with CAD tools for design review including Allegro and Altium.

Embedded MCU/MPU and system architecture design.

Embedded C/C++ programming language and associated development tools.

Work effectively with Field Sales colleagues and teams.

Ability to operate under minimal guidance and assume personal responsibility/accountability comfortably.
