Facility Maintenance Technician

Summary/Objective

Under semi-direct supervision responsible for assisting in carrying out the maintenance processes of the property, including corrective, preventative, routine, emergency, and overall maintenance.

Essential Functions

• Perform general maintenance at facility, grounds, and marina, including trash removal, small repairs, lawn maintenance, and dock maintenance.
• Conducts yard inventory audits and completes activity logs, as necessary
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance in bathrooms, and other common areas (replenishing supplies as needed)
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward customers
• Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulation
• Demonstrate the safe operation of company vehicles, forklifts and equipment at all times
• Assists all Deck attendants in marina related duties such as securing boats to docks

Work Environment

Work performed indoors and out in a marine environment. (This includes adverse weather conditions.)

Physical hazards include marine cargo handling equipment and vehicles, rail traffic, electrical panels, working in confined spaces, and exposure to variable levels of air particulates; i.e. soda ash, potash, and grain dust.

May have to lift heavy equipment or materials up to 75 pounds.

Physical Demands

• Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work.
• Some combinations of climbing and balancing include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have Heavy Equipment/Forklift Operation Experience
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient in time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.
• Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal direction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
