OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the facilities functions for the agency. Responsible for supervising and coordinating operating and maintaining facilities, equipment, and vehicle repairs and maintenance. Ensures compliance standards under Federal and State licensing regulations are achieved. The individual will inspect buildings for potential problems and defects, conduct scheduled housing unit inspections, coordinate fire and emergency drills, and be hands-on when needed. Supervision: This position has supervisory responsibility and creates a unifying workforce vision that brings together Team Member Development, Performance Management, and Succession Planning.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

HSD/GED required. Some colleges preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years experience in building maintenance or repair work in an institutional workplace such as a school, nonprofit organization, or comparable setting is required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of building and grounds, including the facilities operations, services, and activities of a facilities maintenance program.
  • Understanding construction methods and practices; tools, materials, methods, and procedures used in building maintenance and repair.
  • Has basic purchasing methods and practices.
  • Ability to perform basic math to determine materials used and estimate the cost of projects.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
  • Must have high interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The position requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Must have general knowledge of Building codes, ADE Regulations, and Transportation (Federal, State, and Local).
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations or groups professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and well-organized.
  • Responds to requests for service and assistance timely and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid negotiating and decision-making skills.

  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License, automobile insurance coverage, and access to an automobile.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1)Performs all duties in compliance with internal procedures and external

Regulations. Is responsible for bringing compliance issues to the attention of management.

2)Expectations of all Agency employees include:

a. Acts as a role model within and outside of the agency.

c. Communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues.

3) Inspects facilities and equipment to determine the need and extent of service and equipment required. Responsible for a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget.

4) Directs contracted projects to verify adherence to specifications. Consults with external resources as needed.

6) Obtain appropriate approval for purchasing building and maintenance, supplies, machinery, equipment, and furniture within budgetary guidelines.

7) Plans and administers building department budget.

8) Completes reports and paperwork as required. This includes maintaining current records for all licensing, State, Federal, and insurance inspections.

10) Manages fleet auto program for the agency.

11) Will collaborate in developing, modifying, and updating quality assurance/safety program elements, including testing plans and standards related to safety concerns and Federal, State, and Local regulations.

12) Responsible for overseeing hazardous waste disposal, paper recycling, and right-to-know programs.

13) Ensuring that donation items are picked up and dropped off at the appropriate Location(s).

14) Oversees and performs limited maintenance repairs on the building structure, utility systems, HVAC, fire protection, and security system.

15) Ensures the proper maintenance and upkeep of the parking lot, facility grounds, Transitional living, and all agency properties.

16) Manages the distribution of keys that provide access to agency buildings

17) Maintaining and coordinating a regular maintenance schedule to ensure Buildings, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and automobiles are properly repaired.

18) Conducts apartment and duplex inspections with the UPLIFT team.

19) Coordinating janitorial and maintenance contractors.

20) Coordination and appropriate bidding for repairs, replacements, and Purchases, as necessary.

21) Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.

22) Performs all other related duties as assigned.
