What is the role

As part of the Facility Engineering team, your role is to ensure the integrity and reliability of Shell Midstream’s assets. The Facility Engineering team is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of Shell Midstream’s assets for the transportation and storage of crude, chemicals, and products. The team is passionate about protecting Shell Midstream’s License to Operate and Reputation by preventing HSSE incidents and meeting our customer’s needs.

As Electrical/Controls Facility Engineer you are accountable for the following assets:

• Louisiana Ethylene and Propylene Pipeline Systems
• Louisiana Dry Gas Pipeline System
• Bengal Product Pipeline System
• Sorrento Underground Storage Caverns
• Pennsylvania Falcon Ethane Pipeline System

Responsibilities:

• Utilize your technical abilities in electrical engineering, control systems and instrumentation to troubleshoot and resolve operational upsets or equipment failure for assigned assets.
• Support maintenance and reliability of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment.
• Support operation and troubleshooting of process control systems, including PLC programming, function testing, and network design.
• Mitigate asset risk by managing threats and opportunities using the MTO work process and supporting SOF/PSSR for asset restarts.
• Initiate and manage electrical and controls discipline related MOCs. Lead implementation for field-driven changes.
• Support large projects by participating in HAZOP, HAZID, and Design Reviews. Ensure project delivery meets the technical premise.
• Serve as custodian of critical drawings, including changes associated with P&CDs, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and Area Classification.
• Facilitate Asset Care Plan by ensuring the right preventative maintenance plans and tasks for equipment. Submit changes to be made to S4.
• Provide input to the Asset Master Plan for electrical engineering, control systems and instrumentation discipline.
• Support development and implementation of standard best practices and equipment care strategies for the diverse Midstream asset base.

Requirements:

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
• Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electrical, I&E, or Control Systems)
• 3+ years' professional experience
• Ability to provide operations technical support and local asset knowledge to projects all while maintaining process safety and reliability of asset base.
• Ability to engage stakeholders
• Ability to demonstrate Visible Leadership at supported asset base
• Ability to identify and rank business and safety risk
• Compliance with Shell COVID Vaccine Policy
