External Affairs Market Manager
The External Affairs Market Manager role will manage Comerica's External Affairs programs including but not limited to community contributions budgets, brand management and reputation protection and regulatory/ exam preparation. This role will also be responsible for external diversity in a business development role.
The External Affairs Market Manager role will manage Comerica's External Affairs programs including but not limited to community contributions budgets, brand management and reputation protection and regulatory/ exam preparation. Position Responsibilities:
- Manages community relationships among community, civic and government leaders, as well as and nonprofit organizations. Represents Comerica on nonprofit community boards and at events where the bank has a vested interest. Leads and sets the agenda for Comerica's Community Development Advisory Council in the market. Serves as a spokesperson for all community related issues.
- Manages the CRA program in collaboration with CRA Compliance Risk to ensure that Comerica has a strong presence in the necessary CRA assessment areas (as designated by External Affairs) and provides the necessary data to CRA Compliance for regulatory review. Works closely with CRA Compliance to analyze and access data to make recommendations and develop programs to meet the needs of the community. This may include an investment through contributions, service credit through volunteerism or board membership and programming, etc. Create and manage financial education programs and/or other CRA qualified programming as needed.
- Manages community investments and financial education programs including Comerica Business, Money, Education, Sports, Senior and Community/Church $ense programs.
- Advises and updates Market President on external affairs issues related to 1) community involvement, 2) community events, 3) board commitments and 3) community needs.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or 4 years of relevant experience
- 5 years of experience community relations and nonprofit board service, building relationships with community and civic leaders, and data analytics
- 5 years of experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets
8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. This position offers a hybrid work model that includes onsite and remote days as determined by the manager.
