The Town of Scarborough is seeking applicants for a full-time Dispatcher to join the Public Safety team. Our new state-of-the-art Public Safety facility and emergency communications center is open and ready.

WHY SCARBOROUGH COMMUNICATIONS: Scarborough Communications is a community-oriented department that thrives on serving the Towns of Scarborough, Old Orchard Beach and Buxton. Our dispatch schedule consists of 5 days on, 2 days off consecutively. Our new state of the art public safety building includes a state-of-the-art dispatch center, fitness room (which can be used on duty) and training rooms. Scarborough Communications is a rapidly growing Emergency Communications Center with professional career advancement opportunities outside the traditional Emergency Dispatcher role.

EXCELLENT BENEFIT PACKAGE: The Town of Scarborough offers a competitive starting salary of up to $50,024/year and lateral transfer up to $74,086/year based on experience plus ample overtime opportunities. The Town of Scarborough provides its dispatchers multiple retirement options, including MainePERS Special Plan 3C (25yr, 66%, NO age), 457b with employer contribution, 401a with employer contribution, as well as Retirement Health Savings. Included with the comprehensive benefits package is paid time off consisting of 13 floating holidays, 8-16 hours/month vacation, 8 hours/month sick time as well as 32 hours/annually of personal time, and the opportunity to earn compensatory time. New employees are eligible for time off as of the first day of employment.
