Hearst Magazines is seeking an experienced Executive Sales Director who will work closely with the Head of Industry and Ad Sales Manager. This position will be responsible for generating ad revenue for finance accounts in New York City and the surrounding territory across all 25+ brands within the Hearst portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing and research to develop the finance category strategy for Hearst
  • Secure key meetings within the finance category with clients and agency leads
  • Develop and maintain senior level client relationships
  • Achieve sales revenue goals leveraging digital, social, print and experiential opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with all teams within the organization
  • Identify editorial needs for the category in order to achieve the aforementioned sales goals
  • Work with marketing to consistently develop new concepts and franchises for the category
  • Provide ongoing briefings to the Ad Sales Manager and Head of Industry, including areas of opportunity, revenue progress, and requirements to grow the category
  • Represent Hearst as needed on sales calls, entertaining opportunities, and at advertiser/industry events

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in selling media and managing campaigns in the finance category across print, digital, social and experiential
  • Deep industry contacts and positive relationships with client and agency partners in the finance industry
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape, with the ability to identify and manage partnership across all mediums
  • A self-starter who instinctively takes charge has a positive ‘team player’ approach and is comfortable in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment
  • Analytical, strategic thinker, creative problem solver, and resourceful
  • An individual who works well within a corporate and creative environment
  • Superior attention to detail and timely follow-through is critical
  • Relationship builder, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong ideation and presentation skills

The base salary for this role is between $136,000 and $196,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
