Austin Country Club in Austin, TX is looking to hire a full-time Executive Pastry Chef to craft delicious desserts and confectionery items for our country club.

This baking position with our culinary team earns a competitive salary of $75,000/year. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN EXECUTIVE PASTRY CHEF

  • High school diploma
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, or baking OR relevant experience working in a high-quality establishment
  • 5+ years of experience working in the food industry as a pastry chef, baker, or another relevant position
  • Working knowledge about baking techniques and the pastry-making process
  • Knowledge about sanitation principles, food preparation, and nutrition
  • Artistic skills in decorating cakes and other desserts
  • Leadership skills

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EXECUTIVE PASTRY CHEF

As an Executive Pastry Chef with our hospitality team, you play an essential role in managing the pastry section of our kitchen while interacting with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment. Your main tasks include creating pastries, baked goods, and confections by following our set recipes. As needed, you develop new recipes for our seasonal menus. Using your artistic abilities, you decorate pastries and desserts to create beautiful and tasteful presentations.

In addition, you meet with customers to discuss details and plan custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions such as weddings. You monitor our stock of baking ingredients as well as order additional supplies, ingredients, and equipment within our set budget as needed. Safety is a top priority for you, and you take great care to follow all health regulations in your section of the kitchen. You also help train and supervise staff members when necessary.
