PURPOSE:

The Executive Director of Economic Partnerships provides oversight of registered apprenticeships, customized training, and non-credit short-term training projects to provide industry recognized credentials, work force development programs, and continuing education to ensure the training needs of the College’s economic partners are accomplished in an efficient manner. To accomplish these tasks, the Executive Director must work closely with administration, faculty and staff of Flint Hills Technical College and economic and workforce partners, to include KansasWorks Southeast, the Adult Education Center staff, the Regional Development Association of Southeast Kansas (RDA), and the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce. This position acts as the liaison between Flint Hills Technical College and the regional economic and workforce partners to include healthcare, education, business, non-profit and industry sectors.

RESPONSIBLE TO:

President of Flint Hills Technical College

PAYMENT RATE:

Salary commensurate with education and experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

2. Evidence of progressively responsible experience in the private sector AND/OR full-time college teaching experience with relationships to regional economic/workforce partners.

3. Experience with regional public and/or private sector operations (examples such as healthcare, manufacturing, industry, business, or non-profit, etc.).

4. Evidence of skills in leadership, project management, facilitation, and communication.

5. Desire to continue career improvement.

6. Master’s degree preferred.

7. Management experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversees registered apprenticeships.

2. Oversees short-term non-credit bootcamps.

3. Oversees noncredit programming to include the development, delivery and evaluation of customized training and non-credit educational services to healthcare, education, business, industry and non-profit organizations.

4. Develops a pool of industry and related trainers for specific applications and needs.

5. Develops and maintains a non-credit programming schedule in consultation with workforce partners, RDA and economic development directors in the region.

6. Works with credit-based programming leadership to create non-credit and industry-recognized credential crosswalks to credit-bearing programs.

7. Represents FHTC in the community.

8. Researches, analyzes, develops, designs and evaluates noncredit programming trends and College needs.

9. Presents regular progress reports to FHTC Leadership Team and/or Board of Trustees.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

2. Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques.

3. Support the value of an education through lifelong learning.

4. Support the vision and mission of Flint Hills Technical College.

5. Adhere to all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of OSHA and the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.

6. Other duties as may be assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

1. Requires prolonged sitting or standing.

2. Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.

3. Occasional stooping, bending and reaching.

4. Requires extended and flexible work hours.

5. Requires some travel.

6. Must work in noisy and crowded environments.

7. Flexible work schedule to meet the customer’s needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
