Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Dean’s Office of the Bryan School of Business and Economics provides direction based on the School’s vision, mission, and priorities. The Dean’s Office manages resources and coordinates administrative functions to enable the various departments and programs within the Bryan School to operate efficiently and effectively. The 2nd largest unit at UNCG in terms of enrollment and student credit hour production, the Bryan School is home to more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in 19 majors, six master’s degrees, and four Ph.D. programs. We employ approximately 40 staff and 126 full- and part-time faculty members.

The Bryan School creates and disseminates knowledge about the theory and practice of business. In addition to our courses and research, we accomplish this through hands-on projects, global experiences, and outreach to the community. Our work produces principled leaders and exceptional problem solvers who have a global perspective, an innovative mindset, a broad understanding of sustainability, and a commitment to improving the organizations in which they work and the communities in which they live.

Position Summary

This Executive Assistant position is tasked with providing operational support to the Dean and key constituents of the Bryan School. Reporting to the Business Manager, this position is full-time and benefits earning.

Responsibilities include:
  • Operational support for the Dean
  • Administrative support for Bryan committees and advisory board
  • Assistance with Bryan personnel processes
  • Facilitating internal communication
  • General program support
  • Record maintenance

Candidates well suited for this role should excel at customer service, time management, the accuracy of work products, and attention to detail. As this individual serves as a representative for the Dean, effective communication (written and verbal) is a critical component for success.


Minimum Qualifications

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND THREE YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE ADMINISTRATIVE/OFFICE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE; OR GRADUATION OR ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE IN SECRETARIAL SCIENCE, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, OR A RELATED DISCIPLINE AND ONE YEAR OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE ADMINISTRATIVE/OFFICE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE; OR BACHELOR’S DEGREE, PREFERABLY IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OR A RELATED DISCIPLINE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Highly motivated with an emphasis on efficiency, organization, and strong time management.
