Kodiak Roofing & Waterproofing Co. is a full-service commercial roofing contractor serving many locations throughout the Western United States, including Northern and Central California and Reno. Kodiak provides a complete range of roofing and waterproofing applications. Our highly skilled team combines decades of experience with cutting-edge technology to provide the most comprehensive roof repair and waterproofing results available.

The Estimator – Service/Reroof assesses existing roofs and determines estimat es for re-roofs, repairs, and “revive” proposals and tenant improvement projects to the outside sales team to provide customer focused, high-value roofing solutions and strategic pricing strategies.

This is a hybrid position and reports to our Sparks, NV office location a minimum of 3 days per week.

The Estimator – Service/Reroof Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

• Visits construction sites to complete roof investigations and/or meetings with clients to gather all relevant information for the presentation of accurate proposals.
• Reviews and analyzes technician recommendations and roof conditions from service calls or job site visits to develop an appropriate scope of work to complete roof proposals for customers.
• Assesses projects to identify labor, material, costs and time requirements by researching proposals, blueprints, and any related documents.
• Presents prepared estimates per company policies and procedures.
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Records activities related to sales opportunities and proposals in the company’s customer relationship management (CRM) system.
• Prepares professional bid proposals and roof reports per company policies and procedures using estimating software and reviews with the department manager prior to delivery to the sales team.
• Negotiates and reviews contracts for accuracy consistent with bid scope.

The Estimator – Service/Reroof Non-Essential Responsibilities include the following:

• Identifies unsafe behavior or potentially hazardous working conditions and provides continuous training and coaching to others on Kodiak safety standards.
• Acts as a backup for Estimating – Production Department.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position.

• Education and/or Experience – Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering preferred; or one or more years of estimating experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning. Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns and connecting ideas.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Computer Skills: Proficient knowledge of working with word processing documents, creating, and managing spreadsheets, using databases, internet navigation, email communications, presentation/slideshows, and enterprise systems, and industry related software.

Travel

• Is expected to travel up to 20% of the time to perform roof inspections at job sites or to attend continuous educational training.

Pay: $64,355.20 - $96,532.80 per year
