Description:

The Escrow Closer is receiving, reviewing and processing loan files. This person is responsible for clearing title issues, ensuring the closing disclosure matches the lenders closing disclosure as well as performing the actual loan closing. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all funds balance with the lender. This includes receiving and processing escrow binder deposits and incoming lender wires and borrower funds as well as disbursing and funding the transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review files to ensure compliance with lender instructions, underwriter and insurance regulations.
  • Performs post-closing file maintenance including assisting with Data Call requirements.
  • Resolves deficiencies and performs curative work on funded loans if necessary.
  • Clear any post settlement issues that may arise.
  • Perform final review of files to ensure all files are balanced and have a zero ledger balance.
  • Responsible for coordinating all closing actions by reviewing contracts and examining the completeness of real estate accounts.
  • Prepares recording package for submission to the county for E-recording within prescribed timeframes.
  • Monitors and tracks return required documents to ensure all documents were properly recorded with the clerk’s office.
  • Prepares files for final issuance of title policies.
  • Prepare and monitor exception reports.
  • Report any issues to the managing Director as soon as they are discovered.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by management.
Requirements:

College Degree preferred or a combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the title insurance or mortgage industry. Thorough working knowledge of the products and services offered by Primera Title, LLC, as well as the title insurance industry as a whole. Candidate must have a current 0410 Title License. Bilingual (Spanish and English) candidates preferred but not required.

Ideal candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to work with others, ability to analyze moderately difficult problems and offer practical solutions. Interpersonal communication skills are a vital role to this position. The candidate for this job must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to perform multiple tasks under pressure to ensure a smooth workflow and excellent service. The ability to maintain an organized workspace and meet deadlines is critical.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as word and excel is required. Experience with Closers Choice is preferred. Must be able to work independently and have a very strong understating of mortgage banking and title requirements.
