GENERAL FUNCTION AND JOB DUTIES

General Function

This position will work closely with College leaders to drive the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy across the college. This position will also assist the VP with communication strategy, research, data analysis, monitoring, planning and implementation to further the equity-related strategies.


Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and drives the College’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategy in alignment with the College’s strategic plan

2. Researches equity, opportunity, and local, state, and national trends and reports findings to inform and drive continued efforts and progress in advancing the strategic plan

3. Makes EDI recommendations to college administration for policies, procedures, and/or programmatic shifts as a result of employee, student, and procurement data trends

4. Prepares research reports and corresponding recommendations on equity and its impact in higher education, particularly community colleges

5. Partners with Planning and Research for regular updates to and communication of the Momentum Metrics

6. Creates and implements communications related to equity and strategic priorities, including designing and maintaining internal and external College EDI websites

7. Advises and supports efforts to influence resource alignment for investment in equity

8. Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders for input on key equity initiatives/strategies and vendor diversity efforts

9. Assist the President and Cabinet Liaison(s) in facilitating the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council (EDIC) including coordination of the work streams; preparation for the meeting and meeting agendas and materials; creation, maintenance, and updates to Council deliverables; and sharing, reporting, and tracking outcomes and follow-up action.

10. Manage equity and EDIC projects by tracking timelines, budget, process and progression of action items, coordinating resources, and updating project documents.

11. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to coordinate programming, holistic student supports, and awareness of equity work

12. Partner with Organizational Learning and Development on development, tracking, assessment and logistics for equity, diversity and inclusion professional development offerings

13. Provide oversight for the College’s vendor diversity program

14. Partner with Procurement, Facilities Services, and EDI Council delegates to formalize the diversity supplier/vendor management processes and centralized access to supplier data for the College.

15. Serve on college and community committees

16. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resource management or related field and five years of related work experience.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary for this position is $53,318 - $68,000. Pay grade for this position is M. Initial placement for new employees is customarily at entry level through 25% percentile. Contract type is Administrative. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, evening and weekend assignments may be required of any position. All positions are subject to budget approval.
