1. Job Title

1.1. Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator

2. Essential Functions

2.1. Establish and maintain written environmental and safety standards in accordance with ISO14001. Provide needed training, reviews and updates annually to ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act as well as Company Policies and procedures. Coordinates inspections by the Department of Labor.

2.2. Administer and coordinate all environmental/EMS related items and permits as required to comply with local, state and federal regulations. Generate compliance reports as required. (Ex: Storm water permits, Non-contact water permit, and renewable operating permit, air emissions). Update documents to remain current with latest requirements/legislation.

2.3. Provides input in the development stages of current, as well as pending, manufacturing process equipment (includes reviews of). Responsible for the selection of personal protective equipment and the appropriate fit testing of said items.

2.4. Administration of Worker’s Compensation programs. Authorize injury treatment, as needed. Compiles open WC issues with appropriate action plan. Follows all WC cases with appropriate tracking and record keeping. Monitors and participates in all accident investigations.

2.5. Train employees on all necessary environmental, health & safety programs. Assist and participate in the development of orientation of new hires in the area of environmental, health and safety. Coordinate and facilitate meetings and activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

2.6. Coordinate all hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage, handling, shipment and disposal.

2.7. Provide meaningful statistics to management in a timely manner, to assist in continued improvement of workplace health, safety, environmental and loss control.

2.8. Manage any open written consent agreements with State of Federal governments and associated record retention.

2.9. Ensure external and internal complaints related to environmental, health or safety are recorded and reported to management.

2.10. Serve as back up approval authority on waste manifests.

2.11. Participate in and conduct environmental compliance and conformance audits per ISO14001.

2.12. Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.

2.13. Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.

3. Additional Responsibilities

3.1. Advise Department Manager of those situations that may pose significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, and employee safety or customer satisfaction results.

3.2. Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.

3.3. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process & system.

3.4. Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through appropriate channels and verify implementation.

3.5. Sign waste manifests.

4. Education / Experience / Skills

4.1. Occupational Safety and Health degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

4.2. Experience in an industrial environment is required.

4.3. Hazwoper training is preferred.

4.4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

4.5. Proficient computer knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

5.1. Safety glasses are required to be worn at all times within the plant.

5.2. Normal amount of sitting and standing

5.3. Average mobility to move around an office and plant environment

5.4. Able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $71,000.00 per year
