About Friends of Puerto Rico: is a non-profit 501(C)(3) that supports the economic development of the people of Puerto Rico through entrepreneurial initiatives, education, and creating opportunities for women and girls. Since 2015, we have mobilized a passionate community of over 30,000 global entrepreneurs, donors and partner organizations focused on driving economic success and innovation to cultivate the next generation of leaders. Through a combination of training, education and mentorship initiatives that utilize the beautiful culture, art and people of Puerto Rico, our goal is to end financial hardship and provide economic opportunities and self-sufficiency for people on the island, in Washington, DC and around the United States.


Job Overview:

Each year, tens of thousands of individuals serve with AmeriCorps programs to make change in communities in all 50 U.S. states, territories, and select tribal nations. Serving with an AmeriCorps State and National program puts you in an environment that propels your personal development, opens diverse career paths, and promotes lifelong civic engagement. As an Entrepreneurship Program Facilitator, you will serve individuals in the Bayamon region and assist them on their entrepreneurial journey.

Americorps Entrepreneurship Program Facilitator

Job Type: Paid, roughly 20 hours a week

Location: Bayamón, Puerto Rico

During service, you will receive:


1. A modest living allowance of roughly $750 a month

1. Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to use on future educational expenses or to pay back qualified student loans. The value is dependent on length of service. Members 55+ are eligible to transfer their Education Award to a family member.

Eligibility Requirements:

To serve in AmeriCorps State and National, you must:

  • be 17 years or older (no upper age limit)
  • be a U.S. citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide bi-monthly training for participants
  • Meet with participants in a 1:1 counseling setting
  • Build relationships with teachers, campus staff, community partners and families
  • Develop trainings and curriculum
  • Assess and screen participants

  • Available to work at least 20 hours a week.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Volunteer experience is a plus.
