This position is scheduled to begin August 2023.

The successful candidate will teach a 5/5 course load, with at least 3 of those being college composition, at our Red Mountain Campus, a Maricopa Community College located on the Traditional Territories of the O'odham, Piipaash, and Yavapai Peoples. A majority of course load will be in face to face courses, with potential opportunities for online teaching. Part of the teaching load will include teaching our ENG 101 + lab co-requisite course, for developmental writers, with wrap-around student services support. The successful candidate will also hold academic support hours, mentor students, and contribute to the Department by engaging in professional growth activities and serving on department, college, and district committees.

We seek applicants who have a commitment to emphasizing that reading and writing are connected activities essential to literacy development. The ideal candidate would utilize pedagogy that addresses reading related writing issues.

Additionally, candidates should be able to speak to how their instructional practices leverage the experiences and strengths of our BIPOC, LGBTQ+, differently abled students, or other groups, with equity gaps. Ideally, those instructional practices will address the curricular and pedagogical needs of first-generation and marginalized student populations and experiences, which may require working across disciplinary and student support boundaries. The candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to student-centered approaches in both instruction and service.
