Full Time - Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Project Engineer

Freezer Engineering LLC takes a controlled approach to Risk Management to purposefully allow room to let your creative energies flow. Each day you will perform on a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for a small project or selected Segments of a larger project. You should be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, electing, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations of a limited number of variables. You should be an Engineer with 7 to 15 years of mostly Controls Engineering experience utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment. Power experience is a plus. You should be capable of guiding a matrixed project team to lead the technical effort with regards to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and communications.

Our Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineers:

  • Prepare sketches and perform calculations for detailed segments of projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications for review and approval
  • Evaluate vendors’ bids and drawings for projects
  • Monitor subcontracted technical service activities
  • Assist with development of design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures.
  • Lead design team from architecture through installation, including client interface and service.
  • Responsible for technical and application support to client manufacturing plant facilities.
  • Coordinate and perform the definition, analysis, development and implementation of SCADA, HMI, PLC, and DCS.
  • Development of technical standards and application interfaces, documentation, implementation and conceptual development of SCADA, HMI, PLC, DCS systems
  • Knowledge to execute power distribution projects
  • Provide training and support in the use of these systems to contribute to the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations.
  • Work on assorted projects including Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Oil & Gas, Mining, and Manufacturing

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Development of technical standards and application interfaces, documentation, implementation and conceptual development of SCADA, HMI, PLC, DCS systems
  • Knowledge of power distribution in a heavy industrial and manufacturing environment.
  • SKM is not required by definitely a plus
  • Experience at assisting on managing a small project team with respect to scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and communication.

Special Conditions of Employment

o Must possess a valid US Driver’s License.

o Possess high degree of initiative, creativity, communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety requirements.

o Must be a team player & work closely with maintenance, production, engineering, and outside services.

o Must have a flexible work schedule - shift work, overtime and weekends and schedule changes are routine and required aspects of the position.

Provide day-to-day technical support to Project team.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with Development Engineers, Surface Land, Construction Supervisors, Operations, and other staff.
  • Able to identify, control and manage conflict, risks, changes, safety, quality, cost & schedule in an organized manner and often time-constrained environment.
  • Demonstrate technical, project management and leadership skills and commitment to HSE and Corporate Responsibility, as required to successfully execute Infrastructure projects and deliver a quality product.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills to effectively interact with and present to Senior Management, partners and external stakeholders.
  • A desire for continuous learning.
