Overview:
Shure is looking for talented, up-and-coming DSP Engineer I to join our growing team! We offer flexible work arrangements, generous benefits, and an awesome team culture!

You will help ensure products are tested to deliver excellent audio experiences from the smallest podcast all the way to the largest concert venues, single conference call rooms all the way to the largest parliamentary session. You will work closely with the DSP and Audio developers to objectively test and automate algorithm parameter tuning and perform/document subjective listening of algorithm candidates. You must be able to design and implement experiments to validate new audio DSP designs. You will create audio test regression suites for our products, including automated scripts and listening tests, and will outline and execute strategies for audio testing procedures and databases related to algorithm development and machine learning.
Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a cross-functional development team to validate the audio performance of our products. Create audio test plans and test suites by translating product requirements into practical tests. Work under the direction of DSP software and audio hardware engineers to execute tests. Review test plans and results with engineers and project managers.
  • Work together with DSP developers to objectively automate algorithm parameter tuning for product development. Outline and execute strategies to record, curate, and utilize behavioral audio databases for algorithm development and machine learning
  • Design and execute audio regression tests and subjective listening tests
  • Perform cross-product-line audio testing, curate results, and effectively communicate results to product line stakeholders
  • Test and analyze competitive systems, document results, and provide differential analyses
  • Develop and deploy deep verification testing in C/C++ and Matlab environments related to audio codecs, wireless systems, and retail product verification
  • Use scripting tools to automate tests using python, Matlab, C/C++, etc. where possible.
  • Perform research and development for department initiatives and advanced development including simulation and embedded deployment as needed
  • Estimate, organize, and document tasks
  • Communicate technical topics both verbally and in written form
  • Manage time efficiently to support project teams
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. An emphasis in Digital Signal Processing or Audio Processing is desired.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with professional audio products in live sound, recording or AV conferencing environments.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with programming or scripting languages such as C/C++, Python, Ruby, PHP. Matlab experience is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with automated and/or regression testing
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, audio analyzers, and digital multi-meters. Experience with Audio Precision is a plus.
