POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineer II Analyst Materials will support the piping design team, within the engineering team, and support piping design tasks. This to include drawing development, 3D model development, drawing reviews, inspections, coordination, tracking status and tracking documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Creation, development and delivery of drawings to meet contract requirements
  • Review and approval of drawings from suppliers
  • Involved with management of supplier relationships and monitoring
  • Change form drawings and associated documentation
  • Work packages
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert for materials and material properties, as well as an expert for materials commonly used in ship construction, including hull/structural and piping
  • Oversee the design of all material selection for piping, and assist with structural material selection as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS

  • Must have technological skills proven by verifiable and specific work experience, technical publication, or patent issue.
  • Must have a working knowledge of standard shipbuilding rules and regulations, as well as the associated regulatory agencies and the review & approval process.
  • Must have current computer skills relevant to the field of competence.
  • Must have ability to work within schedule restraints.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or related Military Engineering and 4 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the engineering field of competence.
  • This requirement can also be met with a High School Diploma or GED and 20 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the engineering field of competence.
  • Must be capable of obtaining a Secret Clearance
