Competencies, Experience, and Education

We generally need engineers in fields of:

• Mechanical engineering
• Chemical engineering and chemistry
• Manufacturing and industrial engineering
• Electrical engineering (embedded, lab systems, control systems)
• Rocket and missile ballistics
• Finite element analysis (structural, thermal)
• Modeling and simulation
• CAD/CAM, drafting, tolerancing/GD&T

Our needs range from early career to experienced engineers. Prior experience with rocket motors, energetics, and explosives is highly valued. Job responsibilities span across research, design, development, prototyping, and manufacturing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Typical workdays are Monday through Friday. Estes Energetics maintains a flexible schedule around core work hours of 9am to 4pm. Employees are expected to work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods, such as during a critical test or manufacturing operation.

Location

• Engineering work is primarily performed in Penrose, CO. We may need to fill certain positions in Minden, LA. For certain jobs and for the right candidate, remote work may be possible.

Work Authorization

Applicants are required to be a US citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b. Applicants much also be able to obtain explosives licenses, which includes passing a criminal background check and in certain cases a drug test.
