THE ROLE: We are adding a Human Resources Generalist to our team who will be a strategic partner to the Director of Human Resources. This person will be tasked with building a strong and consultative relationship with leaders on matters including performance management, organizational design, teammate engagement, talent planning, change management and interpretation of HR policies and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to balance genuine empathy and warmth with a professional presence to handle all issues
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Extremely organized and communicative
  • Timely follow-through
  • Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee information

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducting full-cycle onboarding, orientation, and offboarding
  • Setting up employee records in the HRIS/payroll system and regular maintenance of files
  • Coaching managers through employee relations matters, including reviews, transfers and promotions, disciplinary action, employee coaching, and conflict resolution
  • Coordinating annual employee evaluations and planning stages
  • Managing employee leaves (personal/medical, FMLA, and disability)
  • Conducting productive work environment, EEO, sexual harassment, and active shooter training
  • Responding to unemployment claims and all other state inquiries and audits
  • Interpreting legal requirements and employment laws

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree and 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources capacity
  • Working knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws
  • Experience using basic Office Suite computer and workforce management programs

HIGHLY BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working for a company with 500+ employees
  • Any of the following certifications: SHRM, SPHR, PHR, IPMA-CP, IPMA-CS
  • Familiarity with an LMS
