SUMMARY
Emergency Medical Technician will be supporting a large medical support services program that is responsible for providing frontline medical care support and health care services for persons of all ages, to include infants, children, adults, and pregnant females.

Work Location: Tucson and Yuma, AZ area. If not local to areas travel with be requried.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:

  • Works within licensure/certification, Scope of Practice, Guidelines for NR EMT or NR Paramedic.
  • Performs medical history and physical assessment.
  • Obtains medical histories and completes necessary paperwork on detainees entering the facilities including vital signs, performing manually and electronic as applicable.
  • Performs vital signs electronically and manually, as indicated.
  • Record any medical concerns, abnormal findings or complaints to refer to the Physician or an Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Performs record keeping functions in accordance with program policies and the system of records management.
  • Assists with medical appointments, medical/mental health emergencies, documenting all care provided.
  • Provide basic safety, infection control, quality assurance, records management, statistical information gathering, etc as required.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • May be required to travel on short notice.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must hold a current active license to practice as Nationally Registered EMT or National Registered Paramedic in the United States with a minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care as a licensed/certified NR EMT or NR Paramedic in the United States. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) if applicable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge or and ability to apply professional principles, procedures, and techniques for patient care.
  • Ability to travel on short notice if required.
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Strong organization, planning and communication skills.
  • Experience with applications of medical principles, clinical procedures, and techniques.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills to develop a rapport with patients and co-workers during which instructional and educational information is presented or shared.
  • Knowledge in collecting a variety of laboratory samples.
  • Knowledge or and ability to apply professional principles, procedures, and techniques for patient care.
  • Provide basic safety, infection control, quality assurance, records management, statistical information gathering, etc as required.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Strong organization, planning and communication skills.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed primarily in secured federal facilities environment. Travel may be required if not local to work site.
