Katalyst Interactive Inc. is looking for a motivated and experienced Firmware Engineer to join our team! As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the firmware development team in the design, development, and production of our state of the art home fitness equipment. You will be responsible for testing, documenting, and creating firmware standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment.
• Work closely with the hardware development team to specify, design, and implement the functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems.
• Design the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, test, and high volume manufacturing.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging, and code optimization.
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews
• Write and maintain technical documentation
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in embedded systems to improve our current technology stack

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3-5 years of full-time Experience in embedded development in robotics, real-time controls, or system software
• Bachelor’s Degree in EE/CE/CS, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability
• Previous experience and strong skills in writing firmware code on Arm M Core processor
• Previous experience and strong skills in working with I2C, SPI, UART
• Comfortable with electrical bench equipment Oscilloscope, Multi meter etc-Able to understand electrical schematics-Familiarity with Bluetooth communication protocol at the firmware level-Familiarity and history working with RTOS
• Experience with test-driven development and developer-driven testing
• Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts

Bonus points for:

• Experience with Atmel, NXP, and Nordic Semiconductor microcontrollers
• Experience Bluetooth (both Classic and Low Energy) standard
• Exposure to web-based app development (REST API, Query based Database management, etc)

The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $187,000.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and business needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
