Grundy Center Elementary is a Leader in Me school!

Located in Grundy Center (25 miles southwest of Cedar Falls) Grundy Center Elementary School hosts kindergarten through 4th grade along with a transitional kindergarten program. The elementary school has a proud history of community support and reading achievement while supporting students and teachers through a strong TLC program.

The first grade team includes two positions that work with students, teachers, families, AEA staff, and administrators. The team also participates in PLC work.

The strongest candidates for this position will be:

• Well versed in early childhood education
• Dynamic, optimistic, motivated, and adaptable
• Developing thoughtful, creative lesson plans that are aligned to learning objectives
• Differentiating instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of students
• Creating a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment that excites and invests students
• Setting and holding students to extremely high academic and behavioral standards
• Contributing to a positive classroom environment and school culture; managing student behavior in a calm, consistent, proactive, and warm-strict manner
• Passionate for contributing to a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture
• Self-aware and understanding of his/her own strengths and weaknesses; commitment to continuous personal growth and professional development
• Conveying high academic and conduct expectations for all students and strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement and ongoing development
