Job Description
Under general supervision; installs, maintains, and repairs various electronic and computer equipment; estimates, orders, and maintains records of materials and supplies used. Performs other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below.

Completion of a high school equivalent education supplemented by coursework in electronics and computer operations plus one (l) year of experience in computer and electronics installation and maintenance. Must possess a valid State of Ohio vehicle operator’s license.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to independently travel to and access the various assigned work sites, offices and agencies, institutions, businesses.

  • Typically requires lifting, sitting, walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, bending, talking, hearing, seeing.
  • Requires various types of physical exertion, such as prolonged bending, stooping, and lifting, walking on uneven terrain and driving vehicles and/or equipment for long periods of time.
  • Employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb, and balance, move, and carry objects weighing up to 95 pounds with assistance repeatedly from one location to another.
  • Job requires performance of heavy manual labor, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and perform and repetitive motions; move whole body in continuous or heavy labor.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
  • Employee shall meet all job safety requirements and all applicable PERPP/OSHA safety standards while performing the essential functions of the job.

Licensing/Certification
Must possess a valid State of Ohio vehicle operator’s license.

Additional Information
An employee is required to travel to and access the various work sites; work will be performed in confined and high spaces,be bending stopping,climbing,and walking;exposure to the hazards associated with electrical testing,installation and repair of electronic equipment,will be present.Required certification and licensing must be maintained.

Description of Job Duty
The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification.


Installs, maintains and repairs electrical equipment (e.g., generators, variable speed controllers), computer equipment such as CRTs, digital and analog interface equipment; laboratory equipment, motors, communication equipment, and metering and recording devices; diagnoses equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action. Operates computer equipment and test equipment in performance of duties.

Estimates materials necessary for equipment repairs or installations; maintains records of materials used for repairs and installation; completes routine reports (e.g. work orders, etc.) on repair and operation of equipment.
