Job Description Summary

The EH&S Manager oversees program, policies, and procedures related to safety/health and environmental quality. The job encompasses a large variety of facilities, and individual safety responsibilities and requires knowledge ofOSHA and EPA standards, hazardous wastes, pollutants and emissions, industrial hygiene, safety training, protective clothing and equipment, workman’s compensation, fire regulations and codes, etc.

Job Description

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for monitoring federal, state, regional, and local safety and environmental regulations for impact and effective application for C&W and the client. Develops plans and implementation strategies and recommends these to C&W and Client management teams.
  • Lead regulatory inspection for fire life safety and storm water

    • Reviews, updates, and/or develops and implements safety and environmental policies and programs as required. Coordinates with site property and facility managers.
    • Conducts site needs assessments to determine impact to C&W staff and develops initial site safety and quality plans and programs, in cooperation with property and facility management and others as designated by C&W and the client.
    • Investigates accidents in conjunction with facilities personnel.
    • Analyzes project and facilities accident statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas. Establishes target areas based on long-range accident prevention and cost control objectives.
    • Develops, delivers and administers standard operating procedures
    • Facilitates process improvement teams and analyzes, measures, and implements these process improvements.
    • Facilitates maintenance of site-specific Policies and Procedures with focus on safety/regulatory issues.
  • REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor of Science degree is required. Specialization in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or Environmental Sciences is preferred.
    • 10 years of professional environmental experience within EH&S profession
    • Two years of experience supervising and managing professional and administrative staff
    • Demonstrated experience in the application of EHS management systems.
    • OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Material Technician certification (a.k.a. HAZWOPER), certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), other EHS related certifications preferred but not required.
    • LEED training and certification is a plus but not required
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently to find solutions
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Access
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel from floor to floor and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee may also be regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; regularly use hands to operate office machinery including, but not limited to, telephones, computers, fax, and photocopy machines; regularly required to walk, talk, and hear.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $96,390.00 - $113,400.00
