CSO is looking for an Educational Liaison for our newest Family Resource Center in Gardner.

This is a family centered program that serves families with children 0-18 years old. We offer multi-cultural parenting programs, support groups, early childhood services, information and referral resources and education supports for families. We also provide access to information and assistance related to health care, safety, employment training, education, peer support and a place for families to relax and have fun with each other.

Our goal is to support families to strengthen their bonds, connect to others, and engage in their community. Our core values include a trauma informed approach as well as respect, trust, safety, wellness, caring, connectivity, and education. This position will provide leadership in at the Center for educational supports and build collaborations with local schools in South County to support families with their goals.

CSO offers Training in: Trauma informed care, Motivational Interviewing, Cultural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Mindfulness Skills and more.


Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with local school districts to help Family Members navigate through educational and school related concerns and needs.
  • Work with school districts in identifying families and youth in need of services.
  • Provide on-site educational leadership of GED, technology center and career coaching.
  • Coordinate with community resources to bring educational supports and network partners on site for support to FRC youth and their Families.
  • Participate in meetings with teachers, including assistance in getting IEP's for youth.
  • Coordinate special events and other interagency activities that involve area schools
  • Work with the FRC staff team to support programming at the FRC.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of high school diploma or Associate's degree and applicable experience. Minimum one year demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents and families, including experience navigating children's systems and supports within the community. Knowledge of and training in child development and children's mental health experience. Demonstrated parenting skills. Good listening skills; ability to establish trusting relationships through compassion, empathy and insight, and ability to foster self-sufficiency in families using problem-solving and practical skills; familiarity with support groups or parent education groups. Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency required including ability to work with email, electronic health record and word processing software.
