What You’ll Get to Do:
The eDiscovery Senior Systems Manager is responsible for applying interdisciplinary IT skills in the technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for complex automated litigation support solutions or products. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical and process specifications.
  • All technical aspects of very large Automated Litigation Support operation, particularly those with unique and/or complex requirements.
  • Manages all of the IT resources for the large ALS operations, from hardware and software, to staffing, to coordination and interconnection with other already existing systems.
  • Maintain a very proactive, leadership role in managing the IT aspects of the project, including actively coordinating with a variety of Government representatives, other contractors, and other project and Contractor components, anticipating problems, hiring and training staff, etc.
  • Manage user help desk support, system and user documentation, system and user training.
  • Oversee development of configuration management, risk analysis, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensure system and data security are adequately implemented and enforced.
  • Consult with government COR regarding scheduling of work, personnel assignments, priorities and progress reporting; plans, staffs, schedules, and develops cost estimates for work to be performed; and reports on progress.
  • Direct and supervise a large technical team; ensures conformance to functional requirements, technical design, and work standards; ensures successful completion of work, timeliness of deliverables, and quality control.
  • Lead all aspects of engagement delivery for assigned project(s)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with legal department staff, as well as technical IT staff.
  • Forge collaborative partnerships with diverse teams of project managers and legal professionals to meet critical deadlines.
  • Provide consulting services to case teams regarding best practices for the use of legal technology.
  • Perform eDiscovery work utilizing defined procedures and tools
  • Ability to describe, summarize, and document how work was performed and the results of such work
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflow, enhance information security practices, and expedite data retrieval and analysis for proactive and reactive investigations.
  • Development of best practice models: oversee and monitor team best practices, develop and promote standard protocols for re-occurring services, etc.
  • Identify and understand technical problems or issues through analysis of multiple data sources to draw effective conclusions and chooses the most effective course of action considering the broad business impacts.
  • Coordinate development of documentation and deliverables, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Data Access Request Policy & Procedures
  • Implement any required project standards, governance structure and/or audit mechanism. Implement project standards across all projects in the portfolio.
  • Manage program level Lessons Learned Repository, conduct project review meetings, program level risks and issues register.
  • Prepare consolidated material from project reports for weekly and monthly review, prepare and distribute monthly IT PMO reports to senior management.
  • Coordinate development of documentation and deliverables


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • This is a very senior level position, and candidates must demonstrate substantial, in-depth skills and experience specific to the requirements of the system/installation with at least three years of hands-on experience in actually doing the work.
  • Several years of experience in the eDiscovery field.
  • Understanding of the litigation lifecycle and its impact on eDiscovery.
  • Experience working with Relativity, NUIX, Casepoint, Recommind, Venio, Everlaw, and Law PreDiscovery or comparable products.
  • Demonstrated working backend experience of IT Infrastructure and Operations tools and technologies, including IT Operations, ITSM, computing platforms and networks supporting eDiscovery tools.
  • Familiarity with general computer forensic practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with various traditional and innovative project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle which includes establishing and updating estimates for projects/tasks.
  • Strong managerial experience of medium to large teams required.
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business users, managers and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with preparing presentations, reports, tables, graphs, and observations for presentation to technical and non-technical audience
  • Superior personal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write well and adapt information into required formats for documents.
  • Experience with Federal contracting processes.
  • Experience with managing multiple priorities and tight timeline.
  • Working knowledge of organizational change management including principles, methodologies and tools Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Trial support experience a plus. In all cases, management skills, systems analysis and leadership skills, and communications skills will be extremely important.
  • Extensive PC skills including Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, as needed, to include weekends, holidays, and off-hours.


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred; preferably in the computer science or information management/technology disciplines.
  • Technical certification valued such as Relativity RCA certification or CompTIA Certifications valued.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification valued
  • Graduate degree in computer science or information management/technology preferred.
