Provide support to the Board of County Commissioners, EDA Board, and Economic Development Director in the development and implementation of the County-wide economic development strategy and manage special projects as requested.

1. Business retention and expansion activities:

• Provide liasion and support for County-based and relocating businesses.
• Establish working relationships with federal, State, and other economic development organizations.
• Assist with implementation of the economic development marketing strategy.

2. Legislative and regulatory activities:

• Participate in developing and managing State and Federal legislative initiatives related to the County's economic development strategy.

3. Infrastructure Development:

• Participate in the identification and planning of infrastructure improvements related to implementation of the County's economic development strategy.
• Assist in the identification and pursuit of Federal, state and other funding for infrastructure improvement projects.

4. Community Development:

• Provide liaison and support for city and community councils within the County.

5. Department administration:

• Assist in providing support to the Board of County Commissioners, EDA Board, and department director in preparing and updating the County's economic development strategy.
• Manage special projects as assigned by the Board of County Commissioners and department director.
• Manage grants and contracts.
• Attend conferences and training sessions.

6. Work independently and with minimal supervision to implement the County's economic development strategy.

7. Frequent meeting participation, including evening meetings and meetings outside of the County, are involved.

8. Perform other related functions as assigned.

• Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques and related tools/equipment to accomplish the basic function of this position, including any safety and/or legal requirements. This may, but not necessarily, include specialized skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or economics and management level experience
