Early Intervention Evaluator
We are hiring an Early Intervention Evaluator to conduct developmental screenings with children birth to 3 years old who have been referred
for services through TEIS. The Early Intervention Evaluator will work in collaboration with the Tennessee Early Intervention System, point of entry offices.
Applicants must be willing to travel frequently within the multi-county service area and occasionally to Chattanooga and Knoxville for staff meetings and training. Evaluators will be based out of a home office environment within the service area. This position covers primarily Morgan, Scott, Roane, Loudon and Monroe counties. Completing evaluations and travel to surrounding counties will be required as needed. The applicant must live within the service area
Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting evaluations with children, primarily in their home.
  • Meeting the needs of the family as much as possible in regards to scheduling and location of evaluation.
  • Participating in IFSP team meetings & assisting with setting goals for children.
  • Keeping strict timelines for evaluations and referrals.
  • Entering data and submitting reports in a timely manner.
  • Attending and participating in required training.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Must hold the minimum of a Bachelors degree
  • Must hold a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in early childhood special education, early childhood education, child and family studies (child development), early intervention, or related field. Related fields would be: deaf education, visual disabilities, special education K-12, elementary education, communication disorders and speech language pathology. (Will be required to provide transcripts)
  • Experience working with/collaborating with the Tennessee Early Intervention System is highly desirable
  • Experience in the field of early intervention and working with families and children is preferred.
  • Experience with the Battelle/BDI-2 NU assessment and the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) is preferred.
  • This position works remotely, and travels frequently throughout the Southeastern region of TN. Regular use of a personal vehicle and maintenance of personal auto insurance in accordance with TN state law is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
