Job Posting for: Early Childhood Education Teacher

Program: Marathon County Child Development Agency, Inc. Head Start program

Deadline to Apply: Until position is filled Location: KMCzech Head Start Center in Mosinee Status: Full Time Academic year Start Date: as soon as available Wage Rate: $1320 to $2040 salary per bi-weekly pay period (80 hours); 40 hour a week; position eligible for Unemployment Compensation over the summer months and paid vacation over Winter and Spring Break weeks. CURRENTLY PAYING AN EXTRA $5.00 AN HOUR STIPEND for all hours worked through December 2023 AND extra 5% per paycheck retention bonus.

Qualifications:

Minimum preferred Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or degree in related field with State of Wisconsin Teaching License for Early Childhood Education (required). Extensive knowledge of child development, appropriate observation/assessment methods in early child development and demonstrated knowledge of implementing early childhood curriculum. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License. Successful completion of criminal background checks. Have or be willing to complete CPR/First Aide. Must acquire an employment physical and negative TB test within 45 days of employment. COVID vaccination is REQUIRED

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility implementing high quality early childhood programming for children and their families as detailed in the Head Start program performance standards, set up pre-school environment, prepare and implement developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans, ensuring the health and safety of the children, implementing indoor and outdoor activities and experiences which support spontaneous learning opportunities within a balance of child initiated and adult directed programming. Plan and provide individual and group activities to stimulate approaches to learning and growth in physical development, language, literacy, and communication, mathematics, creative arts, science and technology and social studies. Implement positive guidance strategies and support child's social/emotional/behavioral growth. Ensure healthy and safe practices for young children. Support individual child's development by completing screenings and ongoing assessments of each child. Provide materials and assistance to help parents understand the child’s developmental, educational and nutritional needs. Engage families in the program to support child’s development and parent’s role as child’s first and most important educator. Assist in planning and implementing parent meetings, special programs and training events. Follow all guidelines and procedures outlined Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers and Federal Head Start Standards. Provide supervision, guidance, and technical assistance to the assigned teacher assistants.

Additional Info: Our program uses the Creative Curriculum, offers many professional development opportunities including reimbursement of tuition for higher education courses, and implements the Teaching Pyramid Model, Lena Grow and the Second Step program to support social/emotional development. All of our classrooms are equipped with SmartBoard technology, ipads and we use the ChildPlus database program. Teachers are responsible for one group of (18) children along with their two teaching assistants, receive 1 hour of prep time each day and to support professional development, record keeping, and connecting with families and teaching team.
