Title: Land and Right of Way Due Diligence Specialist

Summary:

General Responsibilities:

Due Diligence Specialist is responsible for identifying specific clauses and language within an agreement, tracking, and maintaining all data (electronic and physical) pertaining to the agreement, but not limited to the acquisition of rights of way, surface sites and permits specifically related to the land and right of way for oil and gas pipeline projects. The Due Diligence Specialist must be proficient in records management software, Microsoft Office software and have an excellent understanding of the multiple clauses within a right of way agreement. Must have great attention to detail. Accuracy is expected. Proficiency and performance are extremely important.

Required Experience: 2 years minimum.

  • Understanding of due diligence processes
  • Understanding of land and right of way records.
  • Interpreting and determining property rights
  • Interpreting legal documents such as easements, title, permits, licenses, etc.
  • Inputting interpreted data into a database
  • Ability to read and understand survey drawings, alignment sheets, property descriptions, or other means.
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Database software proficient is a must.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Detail oriented

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for extended periods of time working on the computer
  • Ability to work as a member of a team

Organizational Relationships

This position reports to the LJA Oil and Gas Lead

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve routine data management and due diligence situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
