Active and Engaging Part-time Support Service Professional needed to provide direct support for a 29-year-old young lady with a desire to learn independent living skills on a one-to-one basis while in her home and in the West Chester/Downingtown and surrounding community.

TSS or PCA experience preferred. Applicant must have experience with seizure care and personal care.

This young lady wants to become more independent and do more activities in the community. She needs assistance with making choices that support an independent life and in some areas of daily living. The job includes taking this young woman to her community volunteer jobs, assisting her in her home and assisting with hygiene care.

Work 2 or 3 days a week 8 a to 5 pm. Mon – Fri schedule. Flexible scheduling

Candidate should be:

Kind and fun

Reliable

Have a calm demeanor

Have basic knowledge of seizure disorders

Have 1 year of direct support experience

Have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and clean driving record

Be able to pass Pennsylvania background checks

Be able to make and carry out daily plans for the day

Willing to learn new skills

Able to problem-solve everyday issues

Open to adventures, walking and light physical exercise

Responsibilities include:

Assisting, instructing, and supporting our individuals with daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, bill pay, and grocery shopping.

Accompanying our individuals on community outings, medical appointments, and other activities.

Providing assistance, teaching, and/or supervising the individual with activities of independent living, snack and meal preparation, volunteering, and social activities.

Writing daily notes on activities engaged in throughout the day

Pay starts at $23 an hour plus mileage reimbursement at the federal rate.
