Purpose of Position:

The Bather position is responsible for the day to day operations of the bathing area including, bathing animals, greeting customers, caring for animals and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bathe animals using supplied shampoo, conditioner and other cleaning products
• Brush and dry animal coats using appropriate tools.
• Grind or clip animals' nails.
• Express animal glands and complete other menu services (upon request).
• Using scissors or clippers, complete basic hair trim when instructed to do so.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
• Care for all animals checked into the facility and provide water as needed.
• Assist customers at the front counter and answer phone calls.
• Complete all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills:

Bathers must possess excellent animal handling skills to ensure the safety of animals, staff and yourself. A successful groomer must have excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a variety of physical activities including: talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Situations dictate physical control of animals and employees must be able to push or sustain 50 lbs of physical force.

Experience:

This is an entry level position; however, prior animal handling experience is recommended.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
