Educational/Required skills:

- Associates Degree or Logistics related experience

SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES/KNOWLEDGE:

- Proven experienced skills in export documentation and shipping, Air and Ocean, NVOCC and SED filings.

- Experience of trade finance and processing letters of credit.

- Superb people skills, customer relations and communication skills (written and oral).

- TSA and DG certification a plus

- Sales oriented

- Ability to review, discuss and negotiate export rates/costs

- Knowledgeable in the use of systems (Magaya, D365, Office 365).

- Bi-Lingual (preferred)

experience:

- Three (3) years’ experience in export documentation and shipping.

role and Core Function:

- Prepare commercial invoices, caricom invoices, bill of lading, airway bills, S.E.D.’s and all other related shipping documents.

- Source and negotiate competitive freight rates.

- Prepare and distribute documentation for egg shipments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of all shipping related documents including invoice, caricom, bill of lading, airway bills, NVOCC and S.E.D’s etc.

2. Source and negotiate competitive freight rates and make bookings on all shipments.

3. Follow up with suppliers on incomplete invoices for inland freight charges, where necessary.

4. Responsible for sending/transmitting all shipping documents and advising the customer and or designated agent of all shipments, including eggs shipments.

5. Follow up receipt of original airway bill or bill of lading in order to complete documents, which are mailed or sent by courier to customer.

6. Overseeing the loading and unloading of incoming/outgoing shipments. Including scheduling loads and processing shipping paperwork.

7. Coordinating warehouse staff to enable effective land-based product shipping.

8. Assist Operations Manager

9. Other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITY TO:

- Determine most economical method of shipping

- Negotiate freight and payment rates with Suppliers/Vendors

- Determine selling price of freight with the guidelines agreed by department head.

NORMAL WORKING HOURS:

- 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch break. However, based on the nature of the operation, weekend and after-hours work may be necessary.

THE JOB IS SATISFACTORILY PERFORMED WHEN:

- Prompt completion of the documentation package after shipment.

- Error free documentation.

- Ensuring the Company receives the most competitive freight rate.

- Bring Consolidated Freight and Shipping within TSA compliance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must have the ability to be present, awake and alert at the designated office location between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday for full-time employees.

- Must have flexibility and dexterity in both wrists.

- Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other equipment such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, scanner, fax machine etc.

- Must be able to look at and clearly read a computer screen for an extended period of time.
