Your role at Clorox:
The Atlanta Main Plant is posting for a Dock Coordinator, reporting to the Distribution & Logistics Manager. Individuals interested should possess a strong working knowledge of daily Distribution operations. The individual in this position will be called upon to lead teams, develop and implement processes and standard work that are consistent with WCO (World Class Operations). The individual will actively support WCO processes and tools that are sustainable and promote a zero loss culture. These tools will include RFIs, BBS, CIF, and CILs. This individual must be a self-starter and able to provide training to others. This role will require strong leadership, delegation, and communication skills. The successful person in this role will need to be able to effectively influence his/her peers. Below is a summarized list of areas that this individual will directly or indirectly impact and other projects may be assigned.
In this role, you will:
Administrative & Customer Service
  • Ensure the plant’s non-negotiables: safety, housekeeping, quality, and environmental are sustained through a rigorous audit process.
  • Update, track and post personnel overtime worked daily/weekly.
  • Responsible for crewing decisions and planning for future needs where distribution resources are needed (i.e. Startups, project support, etc.)
  • Collect data and update records/charts for all distribution WCO/WCM charts and bulletin boards, this includes Safety, BBS, CIF, FTO Productivity, WCO data, etc. Analyze data for trends and provide input/coaching as needed for correction
  • Motivate the team to complete risk predictions, BBS observations, safety audits and safety hazard notifications
  • Participate in the Daily Review Meeting process as a back-up or as scheduled. Collects and reports out all data used for daily review meeting/shift exchange
  • Be able to lead and manage the empty ware for packaging as well as the empty ware dock.
Warehouse Management
  • Manage warehouse space utilization on a shift and daily basis
  • Directed Freight Flow – manage directed freight flow from production to the floor and fluid load to outbound/inbound trailers daily
  • Manages the dock and coordinates all in & out activity of the hostlers and other drivers
  • Schedules and coordinates all shipping & receiving activity of fork truck operators
  • Serves as a resource to the team for the coordination of daily tasks leading to effective and efficient logistics/freight movement
  • Responsible for the coordination of breaks, lunches, and assessing overall needs of the assigned crew
  • Coordinate packaging material as well as raw materials to and from process or packaging lines as needed to support business
Training
  • Coordinate training for distribution personnel on shift
  • Serve as the trainer on any skill in the distribution progression & certification process
Inventory Management
  • Makes decisions regarding the placing of products on hold, following other quality expectations, standards & processes
  • Takes the lead in handling or coordinating all cycle counts for finished goods and non-inventoried items (air bags, stretchwrap, etc.)
  • Creates STO’s, conducts PGI’s, PGR’s and processes inbound Chep, white wood using MIGO and all associated SAP transactions
  • Participate in annual inventory
  • Follow plant QN process (be able to create one and follow up with outside warehouses)
  • Hourly Compensation: $33.51 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential
What we look for:
  • Must have 5+ years of fork truck operating experience
  • Knowledge of Distribution operations include inventory and warehouse management, dock and trailer yard coordination, and safety procedures to maintain WCO standards
  • Must demonstrate ability to effectively use Clorox systems to perform routine job tasks (SAP transactions, Yardview, etc.)
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Possess strong Computer Skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Detail-oriented, willingness to learn, creative, acts with sense of urgency
  • Strong commitment to plant’s non-negotiables and company’s core values
  • Ability to operate distribution copy machine to make copies and send emails
  • Be willing to work flexible hours and overtime as needed, according to business needs.
  • Supports Distribution improvement projects
  • Must have good understanding of WCO processes
  • Meets overall selection criteria in the areas of performance, leadership, attendance, job skills, and other criteria specifically established for this position. Each qualified applicant will be interviewed for the final selection.
