    SUMMARY: The position of District Safety and Security Officeris an armed position that patrols district and adjacent property,school property within assigned areas, on foot or in a vehicle, to ensure the safety and security of students and the public. Officer works with building administrators, students, staff and the local police to ensure compliance with school district policies and state laws as related to schools. Officer responds to alarms, provides first-line incident response, and facilitates emergency management as necessary. This position is responsible for ensuring the security of buildings and grounds; school safety; and contacting local law enforcement for response to criminal activity.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Two years of work experience as a police officer, or in a closely related law enforcement field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Training in security procedures Completion of a law enforcement academy
