Southwire Job Description

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a high level of proactive interaction and become the central point of contact with the
customer, thus identifying new opportunities for product sales, engineering specifications, educational programs and product recommendations. ·Manage Southwire Sales Rep organizations as well as any assigned Southwire company sales personnel in the Southwest region.
  • Responsible for aligning region strategies and action plans to support channel objectives.
  • Manage and be accountable for the account P/L with a solid financial understanding of nuances that arise.
  • Serve as key liaison to the entire Southwire Electrical sales team to promote innovation product
applications, while also being the trusted advisor and “consultant” to the customer through active
listening and abilities solving problems.
  • Create a solution driven, leadership persona both internally and externally while collaborating with other functions within the corporation and customer organization.
  • Provide leadership to the customer service representatives and direction to the support groups within Product management, Engineering, Marketing and Logistics.
  • Encourage team building and a high-performance work environment through on-going developmental training, leadership, and people management skills.


Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, with proven technical aptitude. MBA
Degree preferred.
  • Requires 7+ years’ experience in technical sales or senior account management, preferably in
Electrical Distributor or Electrical Contractor sector.
  • Requires residency in the Southwest region or willingness to relocate to that area in the immediate future.
  • Requires strong financial understanding with P/L management experience and analytical skills to
work through complex issues in all areas of the business.
  • Requires a team player attitude continuously articulated in a well thought out vision and communicate effectively, holding a team accountable for attainment of realistically set goals.
  • Must possess excellent communications, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in all mediums, appropriate for consultation with all levels of management both internal and external to the company.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to continuously develop competencies of both self and others
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word processing.
