Job Summary
This position is categorized as Flex-Virtual which would entail this individual to work on -site at one of our locations in St. Joseph or Grand Rapids and/or off-site within Michigan.
Responsible for leading the Physician and APP Attraction team; develop and direct an annual strategic medical staff development plan, partner with independent provider groups to meet the ongoing needs of the communities we serve, develop improvements to staffing processes and sourcing and signing top talent. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
Essential Functions
  • Partner with all levels of medical group and hospital leadership and in-market recruiters in executing strategies and initiatives to recruit qualified physicians to practice in Corewell Health West Michigan markets. Brings the necessary attention and creativity required to improve the process and results where needed.
  • Accountable to develop the recruitment strategy forecast for Corewell Health West Michigan in partnership with business development and strategy teams to make annual plans based on growth and market share priorities. Partner with each clinical service line for specialty expertise to assist in guiding annual recruitment priorities. Represents as designated leader to present strategies and status to regional market and clinical service line leaders.
  • Responsible to recommend creative models to include employment, JVs or professional services agreements in the regions and primary and secondary service areas to establish partnerships with independent groups or develop defensive strategies.
  • Leads planning and position approval process with leadership to present data in a consumable way to understand risks, success and barriers to recruitment plan. Provide reports on all clinical service line and regional market physician recruitment progress and make recommendations on strategy, process and offerings to leadership of each group.
  • Manages the performance of all recruitment stages within assigned regions, i.e. search intake, lead generation, candidate management and offer commitments:
    o Reviews plans in advance of search launch to adapt as needed.
    o Ensures the necessary sourcing resources are available – including an effective transfer of information to the sourcing specialists.
    o Reviews requests to use external search firms and other unique sourcing resources with VP.
    o Directly responsible for unique searches as needed and supports the candidate management process for challenging situations when warranted.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring to recruiters, clinical service line dyad leaders as well as the regional market leaders to work toward a best practice recruitment process inclusive of candidate experience, financial negotiations and closings.
  • Collaborate in the development of the financial offers to providers with appropriate clinical service line and leadership approvals including insights on candidate expectations and competitor offerings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, human resources, or comparable field Required
  • Preferred Master's Degree in business, human resources, healthcare, or comparable field
  • 7 years of relevant experience healthcare experience including recruiting providers Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience leading and developing team members Preferred
  • Operational leadership experience in a large multi-specialty group Preferred
  • Clinical experience Preferred
