Brief Description:

The Director of Organizational Development will be responsible for designing and delivering effective organizational interventions that help develop Jazz’s organizational capabilities to be able to deliver its strategic goals and objectives.

The Director of Organizational Development will play a key role therefore in helping to deliver a long-term OD strategy and roadmap to assist with the continued evolution of the organization and to help ensure the organization continues to grow sustainably.

The individual in this role will be an integral member of the Organizational Development & People Analytics Center of Expertise (OD&PA COE) within in the Jazz HR organization. They will report directly into the VP of Organizational Development and People Analytics and will work closely in partnership with the other members of the COE team. This team will collectively bring deep expertise as well as a pragmatic set of solutions that help develop the capabilities of the organization moving forwards, working closely with other key stakeholder groups e.g. HR Business Partners, the Transformation Office, Internal Communications, etc.

Essential Functions

  • lead the development and execution of significant OD and change interventions that help improve the health and effectiveness of the overall Jazz organization e.g. culture and behavior change efforts, Employee Listening, Strategic Workforce Planning, Organizational Design, etc.
  • Take a systemic approach and work in close partnership with the Transformation Office and other groups to advise on and guide the people / organizational change aspects of the execution of major transformation initiatives at an enterprise level
  • Expertly consult with business leaders on matters pertaining to the development of the organization, offer expert advice and guidance to assist with OD related topics
  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners and help develop the OD and change capabilities of HRBPs as well as other key stakeholders in the organization so that there is a more widely dispersed OD capability across the business
  • Working closely with the People Analytics team, leverage relevant organizational and people data to identify opportunities to improve the overall effectiveness of the organization
  • Play a key role bringing OD expertise to assist with the evolution of the culture of the company, with a focus on developing collective leadership capability
  • Identify key OD metrics and measures that enable effective tracking and monitoring of the overall effectiveness of the organization
  • Establish and manage effective vendor partnerships to ensure that Jazz has access to expert OD consulting support as required for future OD programs
  • Contribute to the development of the global HR Function in Jazz, ensuring the HR Operating Model and organizational design are fit for future purposes
  • Leverage external networks and connections to continuously seek best practices and learning from outside of Jazz that can benefit the development of the organization moving forwards

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5-10 years’ experience of delivering high impact, practical OD / change strategies and interventions in complex, global organizations
  • Sound understanding of organizational development / organizational behavior / organizational change theories, methods and approaches
  • Strong, proven organizational consulting skills, demonstrates high levels of self-awareness and Emotional Intelligence
  • Experience of leveraging people and organizational data to inform effective OD and change interventions
  • Well-developed planning and organization skills, ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to think and act with a global mindset, culturally sensitive and aware
  • Strong results orientation with a demonstrated ability to oversee practical, solution-driven initiatives that are perceived as adding value to the business
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner and develop trust and influence at all levels
  • Pharma or Biotech industry experience preferred, but not essential

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Preferred: Bachelors and/or Graduate Degree in Organizational Development / Organizational Behavior / Organizational Consulting / I/O Psychology or equivalent preferred
  • Preferred: Relevant OD / change certifications or qualifications e.g. NTL / PROSCI / etc.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $172,000-$225,750. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
