DIRECTOR OF PATIENT SERVICES (DPS)

SHIFT: Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4pm

PAY SCALE: To be determined based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the operations of the LHCSA (Licensed Home Care Service Agencies).
  • Provides leadership in promoting and maintaining standards for providing high quality care by all clinical staff. Includes coordination of client care activities, overseeing clinical record reviews, policy and procedure formulation, and implementation of continuing education programs, serve as chair of the Quality Improvement Committee.
  • Coordination and compliance with assessments, aid supervision per regulation and as directed by Administrator.
  • Coordination of Insurance Authorizations; communication with scheduling coordinator to obtain authorizations as needed per regulation.
  • Completes audits of admissions and reassessments.
  • Responsible for oversight of regulatory compliance, ensuring continuous compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and accreditation standards, compliance with Company standards of operation, and attainment of goals and objectives established by the Governing Authority.
  • Reviews DOH (Department of Health) Memorandums and implements all regulatory and procedural changes as they pertain to the Company. Acts as liaison with DOH and other oversight agencies including survey activities (clinical files, personal files, client complaints, accidents and incidents, quality assurance, and compliance issues).
  • Oversees contract administration and implementation and acts as liaison with corresponding administrative/professional staff.
  • Is available to the agency staff and clients 24/7. Participates in the agency on-call rotation.
  • Reviews complaints and/or grievances that clients make against agency and assures timely investigation and resolution.
  • Under the direction of the Administrator, review and supervise resolution of all operational citations that the agency may receive from governmental regulatory agencies or from non-governmental accreditation services to which the Company subscribes.
  • Responsible for coordination and completion of aide supervisions per regulation in concert with Agency RN’s.
  • Responsible for annual performance evaluations and physicals for clinical staff.
  • Participates in marketing activities as directed by Administrator.
  • Serve on Executive Strategic Planning Committee to assist in setting organizational goals and strategic objectives.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as Administrator determines appropriate for the position.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current and valid license as an RN in the state of New York required
  • Degree from accredited school/nursing program is required
  • Education or experience in long term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem solving, and conflict resolution
  • Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
  • Strong customer service skills and compassion
