St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, located in Crofton, Maryland, seeks a Director of Marriage and Family Life.

The Director of Marriage & Family Life is responsible for the development, administration, and leadership in programs for engaged couples, married couples, families, and the formation of children in the Catholic faith. In addition, the Director works collaboratively with the Director of Evangelization and Coordinator of Youth Ministry to promote a cohesive and effective program of evangelization and faith formation for the parish.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement a parish-based marriage prep program
• Develop and oversee a program of enrichment for married couples, including empty nesters
• Provide resources and referrals for couples in troubled or failed marriages
• Responsible for the baptism prep program
• Responsible for the faith formation program of children (grades 1-8) Faith and Family Life Catholic Ministries: Pathway Formation Suite
• Responsible for a comprehensive family-based sacramental preparation program
• Responsible for Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
• Responsible for Vacation Bible School (VBS)
• Collaborate with the youth minister on middle school ministry, faith formation, and service opportunities
• Oversees the planning, coordination, and volunteer recruitment and training for various activities, including seasonal activities (Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter, Vacation Bible School, etc.)
• Develops and implement regular intergenerational gatherings and activities
• Assures all volunteers with substantial contact are in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Archdiocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection
• Provides enrichment programs/opportunities for catechists and volunteers
• Develops and maintain the approved budget
• Establishing and using feedback systems for regularly assessing program effectiveness.

• Roman Catholic in sacramental union with the Church
• Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education or Theology preferred but not required or National Credential in Youth Ministry or background in theology and educational methodologies or Willingness to work toward the educational qualifications for the job
• Knowledge of diocesan guidelines and procedures
• Proficiency in computer programs
• Possess good written and oral communication and organizational skills
• Possess working knowledge of social media for communicating with parents and families
