The Distributed Energy (DE) team develops, invests in, and delivers distribution-connected solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in North America. The DE team offers the full spectrum of BESS and PV+BESS solutions – from integrated ESS hardware and software, project development and investment to asset management and operations.

Position Overview

The Director of Federal Energy Services will lead the new Federal Energy Services team within the Distributed Energy division of Q CELLS North America. The primary objective of the role is to win and deliver energy service projects with the US Federal Government. Federal Energy Services is a new team within Distributed Energy, and the Director will need to play a role both in winning individual contracts but also building up the necessary processes, infrastructure, and organizational capabilities to allow the team to be successful.

Responsibilities

  • Build a business plan with a focus on areas where Q CELLS Distributed Energy offerings provide differentiated value to Federal customers.
  • Create the infrastructure, processes, and frameworks to allow Q CELLS Distributed Energy to successfully bid for and win projects with the US Federal Government.
  • Advise on and help create new offerings and other qualifications required to compete in the Federal market.
  • Lead the Federal Energy Services team.
  • Get Q CELLS qualified as a DOE Energy Services Company.
  • Explore potential participation in ESPC and UESC programs.
  • Prepare submissions for and secure Federal Government IDIQ contracts.
  • Track and monitor upcoming Federal Government RFPs.
  • Prepare proposals for and win Federal Government energy service projects.
  • Hire and return key roles within the Federal Services team within Distributed Energy.
  • Provide oversight of and act as the customer advocate on won projects.
  • Advise on required subcontractor partnerships to drive value and success.
  • As a key member of the Distributed Energy leadership team, help shape and direct the group’s strategy and business plan.


Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-years or more of experience selling or delivering energy service projects.
  • 5-years or more of experience bidding for, winning, and delivering renewable energy or energy efficiency projects under a Federal Government framework (e.g., IDIQ).
  • Understanding of, and passion for, renewable energy systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time domestically.
  • Experience building and leading a high-performance team.
  • Demonstrated record of success selling and implementing energy-related projects for the US Federal market.
