The Director of Construction Services is will manage and lead all aspects of the Construction Services organization, including, but not limited to, strategy of the organization, personnel, schedules, contract management of outsource services and warranty process. Effectively produce labor, material cost analysis across the enterprise. Align the Construction Services goals and strategy with the Company goals and strategy and represent Construction Services as part of the senior leadership team.

Duties to include, but not limited, to the following:

  • Manage and lead all aspects of the Construction Services organization
  • Develop and lead the strategy of the Construction Services organization to align with the strategy and opportunities of the Company
  • Ensure profitability of the Construction Services organization, including managing pricing and controlling costs
  • Manage daily activities of Installation Technicians both internal and external resources
  • Handle technical or complex service questions from customers and apply independent judgment in resolving service, warranty or technical problems
  • Research more complex issues and present to management for resolution
  • Visit customer and job sites as required
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of department to complete assigned tasks
  • Confers and cooperates with management and others in driving the customer care strategy in formulating and implementing administrative, operational and customer relations, policies, and procedures
  • Analyzes expenditures, and other financial reports to develop plans, policies, and budgets for department and improving service
  • Reviews transportation schedules, worker assignments, and routings to ensure compliance with corporate goals and standards
  • Manage subcontractor activities, review proposals, develop performance specifications, and ensure customer work is completed on time and within budget
  • Protect and control proprietary materials
  • Review logistics performance with customers against targets, benchmarks and service agreements
  • Develops departmental operating budgets for annual budget planning process
  • Using available assets, prepares monthly departmental reports for management
  • Insures compliance with EH&S policies
  • Trains staff in relevant OSHA and EH&S policies

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree with/or 10+ years of experience in Construction Services Management
  • Advanced level of customer service within the walk-in / cold storage / refrigeration industry
  • High level of technical knowledge required from experience and added training
  • Proven Project Management skills required with scheduling and staff allocation expertise

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Should have ten years construction related background with emphasis in carpentry and refrigeration experience is a plus
  • Capable of managing team responsible for high volume of construction projects, 1000 plus a year
  • Must be familiar with Construction Project Management Systems
  • Experience with creating on-boarding/compliance programs for new contractors from different trade divisions
  • Able to work cross functionally between company departments to improve company lean and quality control initiatives
  • Must be able to read/interpret complex jobsite blueprints
  • Capable of understanding complex jobsite questions from a remote position
  • Capable of estimating complex multi contractor projects
  • Deep understanding of permit/AHJ processes and compliances
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills required both verbal and written
  • Proven skills in time management and multi tasking responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to be self directed and an independent problem solver
  • Ability to expand work hours to meet deadlines and workload fluctuations
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and relevant jurisdictional regulations
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience in some aspect of contract management
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, or as demand requires

  • Ability to sit behind a desk for 8 hours
  • Ability to work on a PC as required
