Position Objective
GENEX is seeking a Director of Business Development in Central CA to increase our progressive member portfolio. To identify and targeting new progressive members and customers to grow sales and gross margin as well as build highly satisfied members/customers to exceed the GENEX sales targets. As well as lead and advise on creating sales strategies with GENEX staff for prospect accounts and existing key accounts.
Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead efforts in the region to maintain updated account prospect lists.
  • Visit prospects to learn their needs, identify stakeholders, and work with GENEX staff to meet their needs.
  • Bring together all people resources needed to maintain new herds, long term.
  • Develop and maintain sales with progressive strategic accounts.
  • Assist in company-wide trainings as needed on sales training.
  • Implement strategic sales strategies to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Record and communicate account interactions and activities that provide for timely follow-up and member satisfaction.
  • Develop network and relationships with industry professionals to strengthen GENEX in the marketplace.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Animal or Dairy Science and at least 5-10 years of dairy cattle industry sales experience is required.
  • Ability to analyze and pursue accounts that yield a win-win for both the member/customer and GENEX.
  • Strong in communication, problem solving, analyzing, and sound decision making.
  • Capability of using the Microsoft Office suite of products, proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have good accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated and have a strong initiative to hunt sales in prospect herds.
  • Must be capable of working in a team environment and leading team projects
  • Willingness to develop and grow both personally and professionally.
