Basic Purpose:

The Director of Marketing oversees all marketing activity associated with the business development of an assigned large-scale multi-million-dollar product category, which contains many individual brands. This includes managing teams of Brand Managers to grow brand recognition for current products and guiding new product commercialization processes for all future product launches.

Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

New and Current Product Development

  • Monitors multiple product budgets and associated margins for all brands.
  • Determines channel strategy and implements distribution plans in partnership with Operations.
  • Develops pricing and trade promotion strategies in collaboration with Sales/Finance.
  • Oversees all advertising campaigns inclusive of design and delivery medium.
  • Manages packing design and ensures brand consistency in collaboration with Quality and R&D
  • Manages supply chain initiatives and S&OP process
  • Manages/lead brand team and commercialization process
  • Oversees productivity and financial results
  • Brand renovation execution, commercialization plans

Plan Management

  • Ensures brand teams execute creative and cost-efficient campaigns
  • Administers plan design changes to improve product sales performance
  • Administers/leads marketing budget process
  • Reporting and execution of Marketing plans, customer level execution

Business & Marketing Analysis

  • Reviews various metrics to determine short- and long-term brand vitality
  • Implements new or updated product marketing initiatives in response to key competitive and category trends.
  • Track & reports on current business performance using internal and reported quantitative data.

Marketing & Customer Presentation

  • Develops, executes, and presents sales materials and marketing presentations to internal sales teams & key customers in support of sales channel activities.
  • Acts as Company representative for assigned Sales and Retailer brand meetings.
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum ten years' experience in a consumer-packaged goods marketing, marketing analytics or project management role or related capacity

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, MBA preferred or equivalent
  • Expert understanding of assigned market inclusive of trends, customers, competition, etc.
  • Experience with AC Nielsen or IRI preferred
  • S&OP process
  • Experience analyzing data & translating to recommendations
  • Ability to monitor budgets and report on P/L activity associated with assigned marketing initiatives
  • Experience launching new products
  • Excellent creative instincts and comfort with visual design
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills
  • Previous demonstration of managing marketing mix including shopper marketing, social, print & television media
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
