Overview

Work in the heart of #humankindess at CHI LakeWood Health as the Director of Nursing for Long Term Care.

As the Director of Nursing (DON) for long term care (LTC) you will be responsible for the organization and administration of the LTC nursing division. The DON plans, directs, organizes, observes, and evaluates all activities/functions within the department. This person is responsible for effective leadership and supervision of nursing personnel to include appropriate scheduling and utilization of staff. You'll be responsible for the quality of care provided to the residents by staff. Coordinates nursing service with other departments within the facility. You'll promote initiative, solve problems and interpret policies. Establish goals and objectives for the nursing department and accomplish them. Appropriately delegates to staff and acts as a mentor for developing staff potential. Prepares and administers budget for nursing department

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility to LTC Services.
  • Supervision of other long-term care departments as assigned.
  • High degree of responsibility for resident and employee safety.
  • Responsible, in part, for the financial control of personnel, supplies, and charges that must be made to patient’s account for service received.
  • Must assure that the unit meets standards set by the State Department of Health.
  • Provide tools for nursing staff to assess, monitor, and communicate changes in a resident’s condition that could impact the need for antibiotics.
  • Review antibiotics use in relation to prescribing practices.
  • Leads ASP Committee.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Minnesota.
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Pay Range
$33.52 - $48.60 /hour
