The Director, Learning and Development will report directly to the VP, Talent Management. This unique leadership role will own the execution of all talent development programs and strategies that drive employee development for our YETIzens globally.

Position Type (See Workplace Approach Below): Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Talent and key stakeholders to design and execute a learning and development strategic roadmap that enables employees to scale with the rapid growth of our business
  • Create a holistic approach to learning and development aligned with YETI's 3E model for development that includes Experience, Exploration and Education
  • Design and lead programs that are based on proven frameworks to assess and accelerate the development of our employees and leaders, including succession planning, talent review, and workforce planning
  • Lead key talent development programs, including mentorship programs, coaching, individual development plan creation and execution and 360 assessments and action planning
  • Build capability for skills analyses to support the identification and development of critical skillsets for our YETIzens
  • Support the capture and transfer of knowledge and key skills, by building systems and processes that enhance institutional knowledge and organizational capability
  • Partner with the Talent Business Partners by gathering insights and developing tools and resources for them to use with their teams
  • Design and deliver team development programs to support the assimilation of new leaders and the ongoing development of teams
  • Support ongoing goal alignment and individual career development through YETI's quarterly Loop process
  • Partner with the Legal organization to support the execution of recurring compliance training

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience leading learning and development programs within a global company
  • At least 8 years of experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing L&D teams
  • Ability to work across the organization to identify departmental talent development needs, develop curriculum, and integrate into an annual calendar and plan
  • Experience with designing and delivering learning and development content, utilizing the most current adult learning theories whether simulation based, gamification, and/or micro learnings where the employees learn while in the flow of work
  • Experience with executing coaching, mentoring and 360 assessment programs
  • Excellent project management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and deliver on commitments within budget
  • Well-honed leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to attract, retain and develop internal talent
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future trends/consequences and create innovative strategies
  • Ability to confidently take action while remaining a collaborative team player
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, rapidly shifting priorities to best support their team and the overall business
  • Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels, thinking long-term while executing in the weeds if necessary
  • Excellent executive presence, comfortably interacting with senior executives within the Company while remaining accessible to everyone
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including conflict resolution, team management and presentations

US Workplace Approach:

  • Onsite: Role requires you to be onsite full-time.
  • Hybrid: Role requires you to be located in Austin, Texas and is a mixture of onsite and remote.
  • Remote: Role is full-time remote.
