About the Job:

The Center Director role will contribute to Smarty Pants Early Learning Center by leading the day-to-day business operations. You will be responsible for managing and executing daily business activities and providing coverage across multiple classrooms, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, communicating with parents and the community, supervising and monitoring all staff assigned to the center(s).

What You’ll Be Doing:

● Hire and coach staff; facilitate resolution of conflicts; encourage and support professional development opportunities; develop and monitor center and staff schedules.

● Oversee staff in the monitoring, control, and review of budgets, identification and interpretation of community needs, conformance to Performance Standards, and other regulatory requirements.

● Establishing and implementing a marketing plan to attract prospective clients.

● Ensuring that the center is adequately stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.

● Conduct regular staff meetings, arrange staff training, set job standards/goals, and monitor/provide ongoing feedback for performance improvement.

● Work with all center staff to ensure quality teaching and learning environments and overview of age-appropriate assessments for the children.

● work with content area managers/specialists/coordinators to plan and implement pre-service and ongoing in-service for cooks, teachers, assistant teachers, and program aides.

● Perform systems evaluation and development and ensure adequate systems are in place to maintain the highest quality of service to children and families in compliance with company Performance Standards; ensure consistency in service delivery across programs.

● Responsible for monthly safety and security checks, annual safety and sanitation inspections, and completion of licensing requirements.

● Report any child or staff incidents.

● Monitor employee on-site filing requirements; assist with the calendar management of the center, events, and community involvement.

● Monitor Child Plus for timely and accurate data input of children and family information.

● Lead the center’s process through state licensing, Quality Rating and Improvement System, and special accreditation (including but not limited to Department of Children and Family Services – DCFS).

About You:

● You have a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related fields.

● You have a proven experience working as a center director or at least 5 years plus of daycare experience.

● You have a sound knowledge of local, state, and federal child care legislation.

● You have a demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels, whether internal or external.

● You have displayed successful time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

● You have a proven ability to keep all required information strictly confidential.

● You are an excellent communicator able to give clear written and verbal communication to everyone in a positive, approachable, and professional manner, including external and internal contacts such as center staff, children and parents, and outside agencies.

● You are dedicated to building a team and display excellent managerial skills.

● You are a self-starter, with the ability to handle stressful situations and think creatively to solve problems.

● You possess strong analytical skills and work with exceptional attention to detail even under tight deadlines.

● Extreme proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

Supplemental pay types:

All staff and students are required to wear the appropriate PPE. We continue to implement frequent hand washing for staff and students. We have increased our cleaning measures. Lastly, we abide by all Covid-19 safety measures and protocols.
